Branding. I’m obsessing over this topic right now. I’m currently in the middle of branding the blog and it’s a lot of work, but I’m enjoying it. Maybe too much? I’ve gotten to choose my brand’s colors, fonts, and a bunch of other fun little details. So what better theme for today’s 5-Points Friday, than my latest obsession…BRANDING.
article I’m reading —
This is an awesome career/branding article. It is written by THE Dr. Ben Fung, who I’ve mentioned a feeewww times now ( like here ) and ( here too ). Just for reference, Dr. Ben is the same guy who always says to NEVER SETTLE when it comes to your career.
Love. Love. Love.
“There are several ways to stand out in positive ways. You can position yourself to be known as a collaborator or as a positive voice. You can also be a champion; advocates are always welcome. Also, there’s the method of being controversial.”
Again. Love. Love. Love.

podcast I’m loving —
This was entertaining AND educational — my kind of podcast! It was actually the first episode I listened to, but I immediately knew I’d be back for more. What reeled me in was the guest! His name is Sean Cannell and he is a YouTube expert, so the whole episode is FULL of insider info on YouTube and how to succeed with it.
A couple questions he answers:
- “What should you wear on camera?”
- “What is the best way to grow your audience?”
Exactly what the doctor ordered.

tool I’m using —
It’s no secret that I need to use more photos in my posts. I’m working on it, I swear. It’s one of the things I’ll be incorporating into my posts from now on!
One of the tools I’m using to edit photos is called Paint.net. It’s pretty straight forward & great for a beginner ( like me )!
Find the free version of paint.net :: here.
quote I’m reflecting on —
Hope you guys have a great weekend! My boyfriend & I are going hiking at a state park that we haven’t been to before, and at some point I’ll be taking another GRE practice test.
What do you guys think of the whole branding topic? Are you getting psycho about it like me, or would you rather not?
Keep dreaming big, everyone!
