An Opportunity for Pre-PT Students, 5-Points Friday

5-Points Friday is a new series I’m doing to wrap up a week’s worth of lessons learned, healthy snacks, and little bursts of what I’m up to. It’s also a progress report of how I’m becoming a top contender for PT school. Enjoy!

Not going to lie, this stung. A lot. But I want to make sure I share all parts of my journey with you guys, so here’s a setback I experienced.

I’m still in the running for several schools, so I’m not getting discouraged, and I’m just using setbacks for FUEL to push myself even more ;))

advice I’m listening to —

Last week I made my first YouTube video (Learning to Make Videos) & I received some awesome advice from Jordan, CEO of Health Snaps {& all-around encouraging & inspiring guy}. His words of wisdom:

Jordan: You did a great job on your first video😊 My only suggestion is to not be afraid to jot down a list of things you want to cover to help you flow through the video. I also just ordered the book you recommended!👍🏼 Thanks Jess

Excellent advice, right? Like, very basic, but also exactly what I needed to hear! It was great to have him tell me to make a topics list because it’s something I hadn’t even thought about.

what I’m reading —

My sister sent this GRE study guide to me and it has reignited my motivation to crush the GRE! (I feel pressure to do well on this test because my GPA is going to be such a weak part of my application & I need to balance that out).

Official Guide to the GRE
I’m loving the looong PT school application process – even the GRE part – because it’s all about the journey & being grateful for the opportunity <3

What I’ve learned about test taking strategy from this book:

  • Answer every question – even with a guess! (no points are taken off for wrong answers). ((good to know, good to know))
  • Work quickly & answer questions I know first! Don’t dwell on questions. Skip the ones I don’t know & revisit if there’s time at the end.

  1. Good for you for not letting minor setbacks get in the way of your goals! It sounds like you’ve come up with a wonderful and comprehensive plan for advancing yourself. Thank you for sharing it!

    1. Thank you, Emily! Also, I went to comment on your zoo adventure post, but it wouldn’t let me because I have wordpress or something? I’m not sure, but want you to know that I tried (&loved your summer dress)!

    1. Hey Mai! Thank you, I will need it because it has been very slooow-going. I’m taking it soon, I just don’t want to mess up since it’s over $200 to take, so I def don’t want to have to repay & retake that. I’m glad you didn’t have to do all that :))
